Example of Past Grants

Over the past six years, the CPS Middle School Drama Club has grown from a weekly club into a vibrant community program involving more than 60 students in grades 5–8 both on stage and behind the scenes in tech and crew.

What makes the program truly special is its multi-generational community:

  • Alumni Mentors: Each year, 5–10 CCHS drama alumni return as student leaders, working as assistant directors, designers, and artists.

  • Community Experts: The club collaborates with talented Carlisle residents who lend their expertise in production, art, and music.

From mounting ambitious productions like Matilda and A Midsummer Night’s Dream this past year to fostering lifelong teamwork and mentorship, the magic of CPS theater continues to shine brighter than ever!

The cubbies were an important infrastructure project, creating more functional, organized, and flexible learning spaces throughout our school. They provide much-needed dedicated storage for band instruments outside the cafeteria. This thoughtful upgrade helps improve daily operations by keeping high-traffic areas clear and freeing up valuable space to better support student activities across multiple programs.

CEF is proud to support projects - both creative and foundational - that enhance daily life for our students and educators. Thank you to our community, and especially Troop 135, for making projects like this possible.

The Physical Education Program received a grant for a pilot program for Moki Bands. Moki

bands are wearable technology that monitors steps and/or also heart rate. The students set

their own personal goals, see how they are performing and adjust their effort/performance

based on their data, giving them increased level of responsibility and individual goal setting in

relation to health/physical activity. This project aims to bring students together around

movement and play in physical education classes. With an added layer of data collection

students will be able to self-monitor their progress and set individual or even team goals. Based on the success of the pilot program the wearables could be used in other programs at the school or in the community, middle school athletics, before school programs, etc.
